Hostiles Film Review

Finished watching Hostiles, directed by Scott Cooper and starring Rosamund Pike, Christian Bale and Wes Studi. The film open with a group if native Americans attack a family home where they steal their horses and burn the family home of Rosalie Quaid (Rosamund Pike) who was the only survivor of the attack after watching her family being killed. Later on Rosalie is soon discovered by a group of soldiers lead by Captain Joseph Blocker (Christian Bale) who have been tasked to escort a chief named Yellow Hawk (Wes Studi) and his family from New Mexico to their home in Montana as Yellow Hawk has been allowed to life his last days in his home by orders of the president. After helping Rosalie bury her family she joins the group as everyone begins to be more careful for any potential attack on the group. Overall this was a good film as it takes a slow start into getting into the film's main plot but once the film gets into its stride it's a pretty enjoyable film as there are some great action scenes and character moment. The multiple character interactions throughout the film are great as shows whole each character being able grow on the journey as each character begins to form relationships and respect with one another over the course of the journey. 7/10.
